The architects and the project manager are insightful and knowledgeable. Collaborative is a great description of the 2SL team because their style is also collaborative with the client. Not only do they understand what I envision but they figure out how to accomplish it. I am in the midst of a renovation project with them right now, so I do not yet have photos to share. Despite the typical surprises that accompany any project on a 100-year-old building, the 2SL team is keeping the project moving along. I especially appreciate their attention to detail and the quality of their subcontractors.

2SL did a fabulous job on the renovation of our 1925 bungalow, completely gutting our kitchen and adding almost 1,000 square feet on the second floor. John and Lina were great to work with on our plans; they listened carefully to what we wanted and incorporated our ideas in ways that made sense. They collaborated with us to keep the historical character and feel of the house, overcoming several design challenges along the way.
Throughout construction, our project manager was easy to work with and also listened to our ideas about what and how we wanted things done. He was great at translating our layperson's thoughts into construction terms that the crew could implement and make reality.
Time and budget were critical for us as we needed to finish our project before historic tax credits expired. 2SL paid close attention to the timeline and got our project finished in time. They also worked with us to stay close to our original budget. Overall, we are extremely pleased and would highly recommend them.

Great group to work with. They designed a master bath, closets, large den, landscaping, and garage.
House was locate in historic district built in 1891. Met with county historic district commission on plan approval. What was nice is they also build so it was dealing with one group who did both.very accommodating. Neat clean considerate. Dave the foreman would come by no matter the time and talk about the days work. Couldn't ask for better.

We had a wonderful experience with 2SL Design Build. Their work is exceptional and detail-oriented, from the beginning of demolition to the final clean up. We have never known a contractor to be as responsive and on task. They were there when they said they'd be and responded to every concern we had along the way. We cannot recommend 2SL highly enough for incredible renovation services. It was a true pleasure to work with them and we hope to hire them again for future renovation projects.

"2SL DESIGNED AND MANAGED THE TOTAL RENOVATION/RECONSTRUCTION..."
2SL desgined and managed the total renovation/reconstruction of our Montessori school, which was relocated from a leased space less than one mile away. Principals at 2SL met with owners (one who also runs the school) to take into consideration all of the aspects we wanted in our school as it related to the Montessori philosophy, connection to the environment, rules and regulations required to operate a childcare center in Raleigh, NC, and general aspects of creating a nurturing early childhood educational setting. We couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of the design, the quality of the craftsmanship, and especially with the team approach that was necessary to see this project through to completion. We faced many, many hurdles and together (and especially with the engaged principals of 2SL) we overcame all of the obstacles and opened on time. 2SL worked closely with us to stay within our budget and the only overruns were either change orders requested by us OR by changes that were required by the city that had been unanticipated.
