John Sibert - Architect As an undergraduate in the College of Design at North Carolina State University in the 1980s, John embraced the design build philosophy and realized the need for this combined approach in both commercial and residential work. In our current era of specialization and compartmentalization, this concept was a compelling solution to the need for integrating vision and execution. After completing advanced architectural degrees at the University of California Berkeley, and stints with global architectural and construction firms HOK (Washington, DC), Taisei Construction (Tokyo, Japan) and local firm Cline Davis Architects in Raleigh, John, along with his wife Lina, opened shop with 2SL in 1997.
