Our client wanted a workshop for rebuilding antique automobiles as well as a studio for arts and crafts projects. In addition, frequent visitors from abroad dictated a "light utility" guest apartment. The design encompasses a two-story vertically oriented structure nestled within a stand of Carolina white pines. The use of basic materials: brick, cedar, metal roof, stainless steel railing, along with a simple dominant color scheme give the project a clean elegant feel. The weekly interaction between client and 2SL enabled a constant flow of ideas and suggestions in both directions producing an overall superior solution.
